Cow Elk

Elk hunting proved to be a little slow for members of the Zing Team. Archery season came and went with few shots presenting themselves. Lots of close calls but nothing in the bag. General season rolled around and elk activity was still slow. Areas that Jason has normally found elk in the past were not producing. The season moved on and before long it was late in the season with still no elk meat in the freezer. On the last day of Montana’s general season Jason found a herd of about 100 head. He watched the elk feed across the canyon waiting for the bull of his dreams to emerge. As all the elk filed past, not one legal bull was spotted. As the sun disappeared behind the mountain a small bunch of cows and calves fed into the draw right below where Jason and Lance were set up waiting. The hunt was awesome and Jason could not pass up the chance at a nice cow. Watch Jason and Lance take this elk in Zing 2!
