Whitetail

This year was a tough year for big deer here in Montana. Big bucks were few and far between for mule deer and whitetail both. So when Jason found this deer in early August there was no doubt where he set his sights. Many mornings and evenings were spent trying to hunt and film the buck Jason nicknamed "G2" because of the extra second point off the bucks left beam. The "G2" buck managed to elude the Zing Team all through bow season and part way into rifle season until one evening Jason and Lance finally found the buck again. The filming light was getting low as they hurried to try to get into position. In their haste the rangefinde was left in the pickup. When the shot presented itself the buck was miss judged and Jason missed the shot he had waited for all season. After spooking the deer Jason figured that would be the last time he would see G2 since he was obviously an old wily buck. Although discouraged, Jason hung in there until the evening of November the 6th. With nobody available to film Jason decided to try setting up for the big buck himself. While getting the camera gear set up Jason could not believe it when he looked over and saw the G2 buck slipping out of the trees following some does.
